Manage credits and avoid common mistakes

Understand the current credit model, test with short passages, lock the script before long generations, and avoid changing voices or regenerating complete projects unnecessarily.

Understand the current credit model

ElevenLabs usage may depend on characters, credits, model, or feature. Allocations and rollover rules can change by plan. Check the current account and official credit documentation before estimating a large project.

Reduce waste

  • Test the voice and model with a short representative passage
  • Finalize the script before generating long sections
  • Generate by sentence or scene when revisions are likely
  • Save the approved voice, model, and setting choices
  • Regenerate only the faulty line

Common mistakes

Changing voices mid project: Voice continuity breaks even when each line sounds good alone.

Trying to repair a poor script with sliders: Rewrite awkward spoken language before adjusting the voice.

Publishing without a full listen: Names, numbers, and pauses can fail in one line even when the rest is strong.

Ignoring consent, disclosure, or licensing: Technical access does not grant permission.

Lesson checklist

  • I checked the current credit rules in my account
  • I use short tests before long generation
  • I keep one approved voice setup across the project
  • I review rights, consent, disclosure, and the final audio
