Why build an email list, and why use Kit?

You may have thousands of followers today, but a platform can change its algorithm, restrict your account, or reduce distribution tomorrow. When that happens, reaching the same people is no longer under your control.
An email list reduces that dependency. A social following is space you use inside someone else's platform. An email list is a direct communication channel that you can export and manage.
Direct does not mean automatic
Email is not magic. A subscriber does not become a customer immediately, and not every subscriber opens every message. You still need permission, useful content, and consistent delivery.
The advantage is structural: one platform change does not remove the whole relationship.

Expect gradual growth
